How to apply for a TBBN Merchant account (Trade Engine)
A Merchant account gives your store, marketplace or app access to the Trade Engine — listings, matching, offers and checkout orchestration through TBBN's API, SDKs and widgets. Trade settlement always happens on your own checkout; TBBN never takes a cut of a trade's value.
Want to try the API first? Get a sandbox key instantly — no application needed.
Before you apply
You need a registered business on TBBN that is verified:
- Create a TBBN account and verify your identity.
- Create a Business and choose Registered business (an individual profile can't run a Merchant account).
- Complete Stripe Connect on the Business page. This verifies the Business.
You must be the Business's owner or an Admin, and Merchant accounts must be available in your country.
Apply
- Go to business.tbbnetwork.com, open your Business and select Linked merchants →.
- Under Apply for a Merchant account, select Start application.
- The first time, read and accept the Merchant Agreement when it appears.
- Fill in:
- Store name (shown to traders)
- Legal name (filled in from your Business — check it)
- Country you sell from and Default currency
- Representative's name and Representative's work email — the person who signs in to the Merchant dashboard. It can be you.
- Select Submit application.
You see "Application submitted." The new Merchant appears in the Linked Merchants table.
Sign in to the Merchant dashboard
The representative signs in straight away:
- Go to merchants.tbbnetwork.com/login.
- Enter the representative's email and select Send code.
- Enter the 6-digit code and select Verify & log in.
While the application is reviewed, this is a temporary account that lasts 7 days. You can use the sandbox, create sandbox API keys and set up your integration. When TBBN approves the account, the same login becomes permanent.
During and after review
- TBBN reviews each application and emails the representative the result.
- While it's under review, live API keys can't be created. Build against sandbox keys.
- Once approved, you can create a production key and choose a plan for production usage.
- If the temporary account expires before approval, start a new application.
