Test mode
Build and test your integration without touching live data. Every Merchant account has a test mode: a separate test account with its own API keys, sellers, listings, offers, trades and webhooks. You see everything it does in your Merchant Dashboard while test mode is on.
Get a test key
- Sign in at merchants.tbbnetwork.com. You need a Merchant account — see Apply for a Merchant account. You can use test mode while your application is being reviewed.
- Switch on Test mode at the top of the page. The first time, TBBN sets up your test account with two test sellers.
- Open API keys and select Create test key. Copy it — it is shown once.

- Same API, same base URL. The key decides the mode:
tbbn_sk_sandbox_…is always test,tbbn_sk_live_…always live. - Test data stays in your test account. It is never public, never matches or trades with live listings, and isn't billed. Use the two test sellers to run a whole trade inside it.
- Webhooks you add in test mode receive test events only; live endpoints never do.
- Your team and billing are the same in both modes. Live keys are created with test mode off, once TBBN approves your account.
