Trade Terms

These terms apply every time you make, accept, or complete a trade on TBBN, whether on tbbnetwork.com or through a merchant that uses TBBN. They supplement the TBBN Terms of Service. You accept them once; if they change, you will be asked to accept the new version before your next trade.

1. Offers and acceptance

  • An offer describes exactly what each side gives: the items, and any amount one side pays the other to balance the trade.
  • When the other side accepts your offer, or you accept theirs, a trade session opens and both sides' items are held so they cannot be offered elsewhere while the trade is in progress.
  • Acceptance is a commitment. Either side may cancel only while neither side has completed checkout, and cancelling carries no penalty. Once one side has paid, the trade can no longer be cancelled by either trader — see section 2 for what happens if the other side then never completes theirs.

2. Checkout

  • Each side completes checkout on the platform where their item is listed. Any balancing amount is paid at that checkout.
  • Complete checkout promptly. A trade in which neither side has completed checkout within the period published at developer.tbbnetwork.com may be closed by TBBN and both items released.
  • If your side has completed checkout and the other side does not complete theirs, the merchant on your side proceeds with your purchase as normal — it does not wait on the other side. The merchant on the other side is asked to hold their own item for at least thirty days before deciding what to do with it, may hold it longer, and must close the trade session (with a note) once they decide not to wait any longer, so it can never be completed after that point.

3. Handing over items

  • Ship or hand over your item as described in the listing, and report it through the platform where you listed it. The other side is relying on that report.
  • Where you use a TBBN Space for a meetup or a drop-off, follow the Space's instructions and use the codes TBBN gives you. Only the person with the pickup code can collect an item.
  • Describe items honestly. A trade based on a materially misleading listing may be reversed, and repeated misdescription will result in removal from the network.

4. Behaviour

  • Keep the trade on the platform. Do not ask the other trader to complete outside TBBN or the merchant's checkout, and do not share contact details for that purpose in listings or messages.
  • Treat the other trader and any Space host with courtesy. Harassment, threats, or discrimination result in immediate removal.

5. Problems

If something goes wrong — an item does not arrive, is not as described, or the other side does not respond — report it from the trade session. TBBN and the merchants involved will work from the recorded events of the trade. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.

6. Your data

TBBN shares with the other trader and their merchant only what is needed to complete the trade. Our Privacy Policy describes this in full.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without prejudice to consumer protections that apply where you are.
